villanoviana

Villanoviana was born from passion for good wine and love for this part of Tuscany, from our will to return to the roots of our culture and to cultivate our land with respect for nature and environment just as was usual long time ago. Memory of first farmers that worked in these lands to produce wine, leaded us to name our farm Villanoviana, as the civilization ancestors of the Etruscans. So in this land between sea and Mediterranean scrubland, starts our charming travel in good quality wine’s world.
The farm has about 6 hectares of vineyards of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Vermentino and Viognier.
All vine varieties are cultivated with spurred cordon, with a density of 6.000 stumps for hectares, (should be 6.000 vines per hectare) all with respect for nature and environment. Nearness to the sea and sun’s exposure give to wines minerality and just a little bit of acidity that characterizes terroir where they come from.
Cellar has a new conception aesthetics, with a ventilated front in “wood-look” ceramic that guarantees a correct thermoregulation of spaces.
In winemaking rooms, cellar has cement vases for fermentation of biological grapes. Underground, aging room with French barriques lays at controlled temperature.
